ClimbingClimbing GuidesWhats climbing all about? adventure?, physical endevour? exploration? Nah! It's all about lists. In fact when it comes down to it thats what most hobbies boil down too. Lists of things you want to do, list of things you have done, lists of things you would like other people to do or lists of things that just happen to be there. Well here are my lists disgused as a feeble attempt at to write a climbing guide or two. I'll tell you what though it's given me a new respect for those guys who write the proper guides. The Dartmoor Tors: A summary of the wonderful granite tors that I have played on over the years -> more Sheepstor: I really liked this tor and climbed most of the routes, so here you are my personal notes of a good days climbing -> more The Southern sea stacks: OK this is not a guide, it's an unashamed wish list of routes that I fancy a crack at at sometime when the conditions and omens are right -> more Stone Farm: This is my local crag, just down the road from me in fact, and I love it, even though it may be eroding away from over use -> more Under Rockes: Away from the well trodden sandstone crags is this wonderfull place. Stay away! I want it all to myself -> more Adventures on ChalkFor some strange reason I seem drawn to the chalk cliffs. It may be something to do with the fact that I live near the downs and the whole place is build on chalk or it could be that it lends it's self to adventures. Who knows, who realy cares!! The studland traverse: a wet and watery traverse from swanage to studland which was an epic adenture Going Sideways (Story) The Needles: Standing proudly out to sea the needles present a classic mountain traverse next to the sea side Old Grey Sea Monsters (Story) Climbing and CyclingOne day I had an idea. why not combine cycling and climbing for an all day adventure. And so was born the nine crag cycle -> more The EGCC newsletter yearsFor a while I was the East Grinstead Climbing club newsletter. I gathered the articles, edited them, arranged them and distributed them. It was my hobby. Every couple of months another edition would appear plotting the triumphs and disasters of this little band of climbers. I couldn't have done it without them. They where the ones putting pencil to paper to produce the tales of epics past. Every now and again I pick up an old edition and re-live those weekend trips. Special thanks must go to Angela who produced most of the covers and who was the inspiration for the constantly changing name, what a concept, what a girl
